2022 Winners of the Liberty Mutual Safety Innovation Award in Construction Announced

The recipients of the third Liberty Mutual Safety Innovation Award in Construction were announced June 3rd at CPWR’s annual Research to Practice Seminar and Partnership Workshop. The award — sponsored by Liberty Mutual Insurance and administered by CPWR — recognizes innovative evidence-based technologies, work practices, and programs (interventions) designed to reduce or eliminate construction hazards that lead to injuries and pain in the construction industry.

The winner will receive a $15,000 cash prize and a plaque, and the two honorable mentions will receive a plaque.

Safe + Sound Week 2022

Join OSHA, NIOSH, CPWR, and many other safety & health organizations for Safe + Sound Week, August 15-21, 2022! 

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event held each August that recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America’s workers safe.

CPWR Data Bulletin: Fatal and Nonfatal Injuries in the Construction Industry

This issue of the CPWR Data Bulletin examines fatal and nonfatal injuries from 2011 to 2020, including by subsector, occupation, demographic group, primary source, and event/exposure.

Accompanying the Data Bulletin are three new CPWR Data Dashboards, each on a related topic: fatal and nonfatal injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, and falls, slips and trips. Three previously published injury dashboards have also been updated with recent data: fatality map, Focus Four, and severe injuries. Each dashboard makes it possible for users to download the data behind it.

Webinars on Preventing Struck-by Incidents

The National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents took place April 11-15. In support of the Stand-Down, the NORA Construction Sector Council Struck-by Work Group hosted several webinars during the week. The recordings of these webinars are now available below:

New Fall Prevention Resources

In preparation for the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction taking place May 2-6, new fall prevention resources have been developed by CPWR, NIOSH, OSHA, and other Falls Campaign partners, and are available for free in English and Spanish at stopconstructionfalls.com.

New resources include:
